  • L1B Individual Visa - New Delhi consulate asking for more information after approval

    Hi,

I attended my L1B Individual visa interview on Jan 31, 2020. The interview went smoothly and VO said that I would receive my visa in 10 days. My visa status is in Administrative Processing since then.

Today (Feb 3, 2020) I received an email from the consulate asking for more information (on my last 15 years of travel, residential, education, and work history). This is the content of the mail:

    Dear Mr. Jain,
In order to continue processing your non-immigrant visa application, please fill out the attached form individually and submit it via email to [email protected]
If you prefer, you may submit a hard copy of the form to the nearest Visa Application Center (VAC). To locate the nearest VAC, please check www.ustraveldocs.com/in or call +91120-4844644 / +914046258222 / ** 703 520 2239 (USA local number) on Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., India Standard Time (IST), or Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., IST.
Please include your case number when submitting any documents. Do NOT submit any original personal documents (degrees, mark sheets, etc.). Documents submitted will not be returned (other than passports and petitions). Do not submit your passport until you receive an email from us to submit the same.
Your visa application will be on hold until we receive the attached document.
    Sincerely,

    NIV Unit
    Consular Section
    New Delhi
I have sent them the required information. Does anyone have any idea what does this mean? And how much time this could take? Interestingly, they haven't issued any 221g slip yet. Is that a good sign?

They might have noticed something suspicious in your travel behavior (I guess its like visiting some country where USA doesn't share good relation) or something else. They just want to verify that whatever they noticed is good & no harm to USA. Once they verify the same, your visa will be issued immediately.

Stay positive, its still not rejected.
