L1A - I140 valid if I move companies?

need some advice.

I have an approved I140 that was filed while I was in the US working for company A on a L1-A visa.
I have had to return back due to a extension denial late last year.
in case I decide to change jobs, will my I140 approval still be valid?

No, that I140 will be abandoned. However the good news is you'll still keep the priority date. Which means, if a new company files for your new I140, you'll still be having the same priority date for your GC.
