L1b Working remote due to Covid-19 situation

I had my L1b visa approved a couple of weeks back and was all set to travel end of March. But due to the recent travel restrictions due to Covid-19, it wouldn't be possible for me to travel right now and I will most likely push it by a month or so depending on how the situation pans out.
The question I had is if it is possible to complete my joining formalities with my US office remotely from India and start on my US payroll considering I am working remote? Or do I necessarily need to physically be present in the United States for my start to be effective?

I guess you can start working for your US company right now. You don't need to be necessarily in USA to start working & get paid to maintain your visa.

My visa was approved in Jan & I moved/started working for my company in June.
