Help/Guidance with the Week Gap between L-2 EAD and H-1B

Hi,
I am currently employed and on L-2 EAD, EAD that expires on 22-Sep-2010. My current employer went ahead and moved me to H-1B using a Change of Status. This would go into effect from 01-Oct-2010. The week's gap between 22-Sep-2010 and 01-Oct-2010 concerns me. It'd be great if someone can advise me on the options I have to remain in a valid work status in this week's gap. Appreciate any advise/word on this front.

You are not authorized to work during that period unless your get a renewed EAD. As the gap is too small, you can take a week off and join on H1B from Oct 1st.

If you apply for a L2 extension and if the extension comes after Oct 1st, then your status will change from H1B to L2 and you will once again have to file a COS to H1B or leave the country and re-enter in H1B visa.
