  • Parent company closed (shutdowned)

    Hi,

I am working as a permanent employee legally in an Indian private company. Few months back I came to our sister company located in US, with L1-B visa.

Now I am working in US with daily allowance in sister company and monthly salary in Indian company.

Till few months back everything was fine. Last month our Parent company in India closed.

Now I did not get salary from my Indian Parent company.

Here after how do I proceed? Is this legally permissible to ask US salary to our sister company?

    Please advice me on this.

    Thanks in Advance.

Yes. Ask the sister company for whom you are working for proper solution.

Thanks for your reply. Is this ok to get the US salary or some what higher value ( Indian Salary in USD + Daily allowance + Additional USD) as a monthly amount?

      Best Regards,

If you are on B1/B2 then Indian Salary + per DM is ok.

If you are on H1/L1 then you should get US salary as at the end of the year, you should file tax returns which will reflect against your SSN.
