  • L2 dependent visa: Spouse or Fiance

I am applying for L2 dependent visa with my fiance whom I am marrying in few weeks time, as the principal applicant.

I am filling the DS156 form and getting the interview date now, but will be appearing for the interview post marriage and this is creating below doubt in my mind.

In the DS156 form, should I specify my relationship with my fiance as Spouse? Even though I am currently not legally married, by the time I will appear before the visa officer I will be married.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

      Spouse or Fiance ?

In Interview exspecailly for L2, Dependent will be asked to submit the proofs of Marraige.
      1. Marriage Certificate
      2. Photo Album

Is you are standing wiht all these its not a issue.
But if the Consualte is smart enough to identify Applicatio filled Date is couple of weeks before your marriage certificate, he/she can bifurcate the interview and may result in void of visa for a year.

Few cases have found and also got solved after saying Engagement is also considered as Marriage, but tis a circus to do and proove.

Instead get all your DS forms filled and ready and also with teh Inerview Date to be blocked form your COMPANY,
get Marriage Certificate on your Marriage date (you ahve to vsiit Sub-Registrar Offcie on the same day of Marriage to get it on same day)
then just fill the Date and Sign and proceed.
you plan as next day is your Visa Interview date.
So hussle, Just wait/hold and Proceed insatead of taking chances...
