  • L2 (dependent visa)

    Hello,

My company in the Philippines issued me an L1B VISA. I've been here in the US for 6mos already. 2 months ago, my company applied for L2 VISA for my family. During the interview, the consul asked why was the BirthCertificate of my son was late registered. We explain the reason why and even showed the Hospital records that it my our biological son. They got my wife and kid's passport. They said that they will contact us once the VISA gets approved. They only gave us a slip on what room number to go once they contact us.

I am wondering why until know they haven't got back to us. Is this normal? Is there any way to have the process gets speed up?

I guess their case went into admin processing. Search the forum for "Adminsitrative process" and you will find a lot of posts similar to yours. Unfortunately there is no way to speed up this process. The only option is to wait until you hear back from the consulate.

That's what I am puzzled off. Why didn't they given us any slips, indicating what happened. Atleast we knew exactly the reason. Whew. We have asked our company US lawyers to contact the embassy. Im praying for some great news in the next few weeks.
