  • L1B Blanket Extension - Consulates are closed.

    Hello!

I am working on L1B and my 3 years will end in Aug 2020. The Petition is anyway approved Indefinitely by my employer as its Blanket.
To get the 2 year extension on my L1B, do I need to schedule consular appointment in a consulate?

Is there no way to get my L1B extension filed through premium processing? I am concerned as August 2020 is near and Consulates are mostly closed or just taking Emergency appointments.

You can file for your L1-B extension staying in US itself. For this step you dont need to schedule any appointment with USCIS. You can ask your attorney to file your extension before August 2020. Since all premium are closed you can file it in Normal processing itself. Once you file your extension before August you have 240 grace days to stay legally and work in US. Before 240 you need to get a result for your extension.
