  • Can L1B visa appointment be taken in any other consulate other than Chennai ?

    Hi
I need to have L1B visa appointment done as soon as possible - but the nearest available date in the webpage is in Feb 2021

    1. Can I book at other locations ? (In the past, I have heard that L1B petitions are allowed only in Chennai)
    2. If I need to, can I reschedule the appointments free of cost & without any new paperwork ?
    3. Should I wait to see if slots open up OR should I go ahead and book for a nearest date in Chennai ? (which is, Feb 2021!)

Please do let know your inputs.

    Thanks!
    Basil

To the best of my knowledge, if it is blanket petition, then you have to go Chennai only. Individual petition has to go near to your residence.

    Certainly, up to 3 times.

Slots keep opening up whenever someone cancels their appointment. But to be on safer side, book whatever is available & keep looking for new slot - by rescheduling link.

Thank you for the quick reply. Is there a way that I can expedite the process - a premium application ?

Not sure if I got the question correctly.

There is no premium application for visa stamping. Premium can certainly be done for petition & extensions.

Oh, I was enquiring about getting a premium slot for Visa stamping (not sure if such an option exists)

No premium slots for stamping. Plus US Embassy in India are closed currently. So, you have to wait.

Okay, Thank you. I will follow an earlier suggestion - to book for the nearest available date, reschedule when slots open up!
Thanks for the inputs & clarifying things!

Best of luck & share your experience back with the forum. Specially when US Govt is going to sign (or already signed) suspending H1/L1 visas.

Yes, fingers crossed. (Not sure if luck is favorable at the moment )
Will let the forum know how things go.

                  Thanks!
