  • L2 Visa - Yellow slip

    I have a question related to L2B visa. I got yellow slip with the option "Administrative processing required" checked also they kept the passport with them and gave 3 to 5 week time. Usually how long it will take to get the passport back. And what are the chances to get the VISA means they can also reject it. And what is administrative processing means.
    I any one have any experience or any data so pls share. Thanks

    Search immihelp with withkey worrds like "Admin Processing" / "Administrative Processing" / "221g" and you will find 100's of posts. Ir is hard to predict when admin procesisng will get cleared as each case in individual. Ofcourse they can reject the visa after the admin processing if they figure out that the material evidences produced by candidate is ****.

      Thanks!! but i dont understand for L2 why they need to check the avidence. This is only dependent visa right based on the L1. And in L1 they already checked everything and granted VISA.
      Lot of posts are available but most of them are saying something about the additional documents required in case of yellow slip. But they didnt ask for any documents they simply took the passport and gave 3 to 5 weeks. After 10 days thr is no update in website. status is same i don't know they change the status or not.

        Admin processing means a lot more than just checking your academic certificates or work experience. How would they know without a admin procesisng that a criminal or a terrorist is not applying for a the visa by providing wrong documents? Just because the primary applicant is all good & clean, are you expecting the spouse to be let into the country even he/she is a terrorist?

        More over, just having a L1 petition and L1 visa doesn't put the person on L1 status. The primary applicant should be maintaining his/her status by working for the L1 employer and getting paid. Also, they want to make sure there isn't any criminal cases filed against the individual. There is a lot more to admin processing.

          L2 and yellow thing...

          Here is my situation;
          L2 visa Interview on 19 May 2010 and got 221g yellow form ( I was told that embassy will contact you in a week time). Emailed them but got a very generic reply as expected.
          Its the 6th week in progress but i havent heard anything from them.
          They did not keep my passport and returned all the docs.
          I have read somewhere that it is generally the name hit or background/crime check in admin processing.
          Its a wait and watch situation really.
