EAD getting expired but have 3 months for visa expiry

Hi Team,

My L2 EAD Is getting expired this April; but I have valid visa until July; As per my spouse employer policy they will apply for renewal only in the last month; i.e July.

So I have almost 3 months in hand without EAD but valid visa. Can you please advise if I can apply for L2 EAD renewal without applying for L1/L2 extension?

No, you can not apply for EAD renewal without your L2 extension. Without your I-539, your EAD renewal will be denied. If your I-539 is pending, your EAD renewal will be pending too. Your spouse employer's policy is obvious ridiculous because they should apply for L1 and L2 extension as soon as possible( 6 months before expiry).

If you are seeking to get EAD for May-July before the visa expires, you can apply and get that. you will get only for those 3 months assuming L1 visa expiry is same.

Agree with RS2019, apply for your EAD renewal now (apply before time) for the 3 months & reapply for that along with your L1/L2 extension.
