  • L2 visa processing

    Hello,

My L2 visa is in processing/pending status from USCIS. Now can I travel to India? If I travel how do I come back to states? Can I show the pending status reciept to US Consulate during visa interview?

If any other details please forward me.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Not advisable to travel when the extension is pending wth USCIS as it might get the extension of stay denied. Also, it is not advisable to re-enter with just the receipt notice.

      Thank Shervin!

So what is the other option to travel to India?

Can I go to any US consulate and get visa stamped on passport before I come to states?

You can travel and wait until the L1 gets approved. When the L1 gets approved, you can go and get the L2 stamped based on the approved L1 petition (assuming that your current L2 visa would expire by that time) and return back with the valid L2 visa and extended L1 petition, which will get you a new I-94 at the POE that is valid until the extended L1 petition expiry date.
