Different passport number in L1 petition

Hi,

My company has filed an L1 blanket petition for me. I want to endorse my spouse name on my passport and will be submitting the application for the same. A new passport is usually given after the endorsement, which will obviously have a different number than the one mentioned during/in the petition. The old passport is returned to the applicant along with the new one.

My question is, will this cause a problem during the visa interview or even before, (when filling the DS-160 form) because of this? I will be having the old passport with me though.

This will not cause any problem. Secondly, you do not need to get spouse's name on the passport, marriage certificate is sufficient.
