Greencard is in Process - Can i apply for new L1 visa?

Hello there! My GC is in process and date of filling is current, i'm out of united states for over 5 years now shall i apply for new L1 and return to US and then do get my adjustment of status? Is it legal? I do not want to goof up the process. Thanks in advance.

What is the current state of your GC processing?

Yes, you can apply for fresh L1 & return to USA & immediately file for AOS (however note that fresh L1 will take its own time) & no one is sure if AOS date will remain current in next month or not.

Hi Libra! Appreciate your response. My i140 is approved and recently got an email from NVC with welcome letter, i'm not sure how to take the set forward.
