L2 Dependent Visa

Hi,

I am applying for L1 B blanket visa for US. Also, L2 for my husband.
I am having certain doubts:

1) I have seen it's easy for wives getting dependent visa with their husbands. What are the complications we may face if my husband goes as dependent to apply for L2 visa with me?

2) Earlier, I had a UK work permit and my husband as accompanying spouse visa with me. I came earlier from UK, but my husband came 4 months after me(though the UK visa for him was valid at the time he left UK). Will this case impact in any manner for his L2 visa?(that UK visas have now been expired for both of us)

Please help us by answering these questions and remove our tension.

Hi OP,

as far as visa process/immigration process is concerned , there is NO DIFFERENCE whether husband or wife is applying for H4/L2(Dependent Visa)-Papaerwork/documents/check list -everything remains same.

Only difference is the additional questions which Visa Officer may ask your husband like about his job , if he is working and going to US on leave - whether he got the approval from his company to go on leave and if he is not working VO can ask why.
Secondly , what he will do in US on H4 ( as he cannot work in US)

Visa Officers in India at consulate - they very much know about the Indian culture in general - like Husband working/Wife homemaker-so wives on H4 will lookafter the kids/home etc...
So your husband should be ready with the answers for these questions and tell whatever is the fact.

As far as experience is concerned - my ex female collegue's husband came to US on H4 3 years back and I asked him the same thing what VO asked him (as cases of husband coming on dependent visa's are less).
