  • Leaving USA does visa get cancalled

    HI,

This is my first time posting so any help appreciated.

My suband and I moved to USA a year ago, we are here on an L1 and L2 visa. The L1 visa was issued as L-1B as the company opened a new office in San Francisco. This office is now closing down and we have to return to the UK, I was wondering if the visas will now be cancelled?

I am working on a L2 visa (valid 3 more years) and have a valid EAD until Feb 2012 - my employer has asked if i could still work for them remotely from the UK?

Does my documentation remain valid? is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your help

    >>> Visa is what you have in the passport. It remains valid until it's expiry date. If you apply for a different visa type, the consulate may cancel the existing one. Unless one of these happens, the visa remains valid. Petition is a different story through. The employer can revoke the L1 petition.

    >>> When you are outside U.S, you are no longer in L2 visa. So you don't need a valid U.S visa or EAD to work from U.K. I don't think this is an issue.
