Error on DS-160 application online

Hi Everyone,

I am trying since yesterday to complete a DS-160 online for L1 VISA application, everything goes well except the last step:
All personal information filled out, I need to upload the photo :

I am on the Upload photo page, with a test stating "Starting November 1, 2016, eye glasses will no longer be allowed in new visa photos." and then, down the page, a big rectangular button :Upload Your Photo" => I CLICK on the rectangular button, and before I can do anything else, this brings me to an ERROR page :
"Error: There was an error processing the request."

Means I did not get the chance to upload anything, it is not a picture file issue, the error happened right away, did not get the chance to upload anything.

Any similar experience?

Hi, I am experiencing exactly the same issue, even when trying with different browsers (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox). Still couldn't find a solution for it, does anyone else maybe have an idea?

I just had the very same experience, also while applying for L1. Whenever I click on the "Upload your Photo" button, I get redirected to the error page saying:
"Error: There was an error processing the request."

I will retry continue to retry. However, there is also no option to skip this step and bring a photo to the interview.

Any comments or ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

I have the exact same problem with DS-160 online for J1 Visa application. Tried to fill out the form yesterday and today.. Do you have any new infos?

Same. Trying to get on the phone with NVH but they are not picking up, have been listening to the wait music for hours

I couldn't reach anybody at the embassy due to Covid 19 related new implemented pandemic restrictions. I could imagine that the problem is with the server as it applies to us in the same manner and at the same time. What do you think ?

I tried today and it works without any problem! So that was only a server issue, should work for you all as well

You might want to try a different browser or different computer.

I got "Error: There was an error processing the request" because my photo was too big. Then I used the photo tool here to crop the photo and uploaded the cropped photo.

The next step may show "an error occurred while processing your photo". The only way that can fix it for is to use VPN to connect to a server in the US and upload the cropped photo.again.
