  • L1B to L1A

    Hi,
I am current an L1-B status and was stamped in SEP-2007. It expires in SEP-2010 and I am due to apply for my extension.

    I got my L1-B for role of a J2EE Architect/Developer.

But since I have been additionally playing the role of a Tech Project-Manger with my team under me onsite.
I can demonstrate my role with written evidence from my Company.

I am now seeking to go for an L1-A instead of the L1-B extension as L1-A pitches me into the EB1 for GC with no labor.

My concern is below the points that follow, for which I need urgent answers:-

    (1) My Degree Qualification is a "Graduate Diploma in IT (S/W development)" -- 1.5 years
    (2) Besides this I did a lot of certificate programs for another 1.5 years in Software and computing form NIIT, Sun etc.
    (3) I do not have a bachelors degree.
    (4) I have 11 years of IT (S/W) work experience and the last 4 years as a Tech-project-Manager.
    (5) My L1-B was assessed and passed under the above qualifications and passed in 2007.
I have been working for this company for 11 years

    (A) My question is when I apply for an L1-A instead of an L1-B extension, is it likely to be ineligible or fail due to the qualification.
    (B) Is it safer to go for an L1-B extension than a new L1-A.

    Thanks..and await your response

    1) L1A is for managers. When you're already a manager, you're good.
No need to bother about qualification.
    2) -NA-
