L2 Visa Holder(Without EAD) stay in absence of L1 visa

Hi,

my friend is on L1 visa and now his project got over and he is going back to India for a some time time. He is going to travel frequently with L1 for same company.

Now my question is can his wife stay here with out her husband.

They both have valid visa status for another two years.

She doesn't have EAD to work here.

L2 is valid only till L1 remains in status. If L1 leaves the country, then he/she is no longer in L1 status and so does L2. Only short visit by L1 holder out side the country without the L2 dependent is allowed.
