L1a visa time, 3 years valid date

Hello all,

I have a question with regards to my L1a visa. Our uscis approval and 797 was approved in March 2020 and is valid to March 2023. We are yet to get an interview and visa stamp. We are almost a year waiting and into our visa. Once we get our visa will we only get the balance of the 3 years?

You will get visa validity as per your petition validity date ie Mar 2023.

You can capture the time loss later when you apply for extension after 3 years (ie. Mar 2023)

It actually depends upon the interview & your profile. If approved, the minimum visa you'll get is till your 797 expiry date & maximum you can get 5 years from the date of interview.
