  • Appointment waiting time for new L1B application

I'm in the process of interviewing with US based teams of my company which I hope to crack to start the immigration process forward. From what I have gathered from this forum, is it wise to assume for a waiting period of 3-4 months for an interview appointment slot in any of the India consulates?

Also, the immigration agency in my organisation has estimated the time for the process to be around 3-4 months.

However, when visa appointment using the website to book an appointment slot for L1-Individual visa, it was stating as the first Available Appointment Is Tuesday March 16, 2021.
I'm a bit confused by what I'm seeing on the forum and my company's immigration agency and what the visa appointment website is mentioning.

I understand that first the petition has to be filed by the employer which could take 6 months, but can be completed within 15 days under premium processing.

I'm not able to understand how are people reporting the 3-4 month waiting period when petition filing time and the available interview slot are less than a month.

Is it individual or blanket? The reasons for your delay could be-
    • considering worst case of rfe if it's individual petition
    • Your internal processes or immigration team may take 1-2 weeks everytime the ball is in their court.

Thanks for the reply. Regarding your second point, is there too much back and forth when a petition is filed which can lead to this long delay. I do realise the time taken when an RFE is issued.

The consulates are open for cases exempted from president proclamation, hence you seeing appointment availability till Mar 31st, but nothing available after March.
