Travel when L2 and EAD is in process

Hi,
I have applied for L2 (Texas) and EAD(Vermont) for my wife. They are both in process.
If my wife travels outside the country , I know her L2 will be withdrawn.
What will happen to EAD? Will it be automatically withdrawn or it stops the clock and once she comes back with L2 Stamped she can give the L2 to EAD for further processing?
Or I have to again apply for her EAD new?

Her EAD application will continue, but she will get an RFE, since her existing I94 will be gone (once she leaves USA).

She will need to submit her new I94 as response to RFE, once she is back in USA.
