L2 Extension and EAD RFE

I am on L1 visa and my wife applied for the EAD, nothing happened for initial 4 months. When we called the USCIS, she got a letter with the RFE for the L1/L2 extension evidence.

Our L1/L2 are about to expire and extensions are currently in process and we have only application (petition) numbers for it.

Will it help if I send the L1/L2 extensions application number as reply to RFE request? Or do I need to withdraw the application now and re-apply for the EAD later once we get the L1/L2 extensions?

Provide a copy of the existing application and also receipt notice of the extension filed. Send this information along with a cover letter mentioning the details of the extension filed and pending.

There are chances that she might get the EAD approved only till the current petition expiry date. In such case, you will need to file the EAD again after receiving the L1/L2 extension.
