L2 EAD help

Hello All,

I am a software engineer and I am travelling to US (Washington DC) from my company on L1 Visa. My Wife is also a software engineer working in another company in India.

I would like to take her with me as dependent on L2 Visa. Also would like to apply for Work Authorization (EAD) once we reach there so that she can also work once its approved.

Question is - Should my Wife should resign from her company so that she can apply for EAD? Her company is ready to provide 6 months leave without any pay(Loss Of Pay Leave).

So

1) can she take the leave without pay option from her company, then apply EAD and start working if she gets any job. She is ready to resign job if she gets EAD + Job, (So she can work after 90 days if EAD is approved)

2) She must resign from her current company to apply for EAD ? In this case we need to take leave without pay now and after 6 months if my assignment is extended , she need to resign and then apply for EAD ( So She can work only after 9 months as EAD takes minimum 90 days)

Please advice

Resigning or not doesn't matter to work on EAD.
It's up to her wish.
