L1B to L1A

Hi

I om on L1B( blanket) visa from 2006 till date( June 2010). My L1B visa is getting over in December 2011. I have 3 questions

1) Can i convert my L1B visa to L1A so that i can extend my stay in US for 7 years.

2) If yes can i do the conversion residing from US only or do i need to go to India ?

3) How early should i start the Visa conversion process if i can do that residing in US?

1. Yes, as long as you are eligible for L1A requirements independently.
