  • Interpreting Processing Times

    Hi there,

My L1-A petition was filed on 23rd Dec'20 and it is being processed at Texas Service Center which is showing processing time of 2.5 to 4.5 months with
'Receipt date for a case inquiry' as 22nd Nov'20.
Just wanted to know how to interpret above with respect to my petition.

Also, my company will be upgrading my case to premium one. Will it be beneficial at this stage consideing max processing time being shown is 4.5 months for normal processing and it will already be 4 months by the end of Apr'21 ?

    Thanks.

So, till the “date for case enquiry” is still before your actual receipt date - it is considered that the application is going at normal speed.

You should expect response to your application before 4.5 months are passed after petition submission (i.e. May 8th in your case). If you dont get any response by that time, you can open service request for case outside processing window.

At this stage, i dont think premium processing is any help, unless you are running out of time.

Thanks Libra_14 for your response. I got a response from my organisation's visa cell as well. As per them, it is better to go for premium processing as decisions from USCIS are going beyond normal processing times.

Yes, USCIS is slow these days, because of huge number of applications filed last year end.

          Hi,

Just to update. My case was converted to Premium and I received "Request for Additional Evidence". Was curious to know if it is different from RFE or not.

Also, what is the success rate once RFE is received ? And, what kind of RFE(s) are being received in L1A Individual category nowadays?

          Thanks.

Stay positive, success rate is pretty high.

Its about perspective - instead of straight away rejecting your extension, they are giving you another chance to prove your application - it will be approved soon.
