  • L1B Blanket and L2 query

    Hi,

I have a blanket L1B visa interview shortly and my husband would be appearing along with me for his L2 which is being sponsored by my company. We would be going to the Chennai US Consulate.

My husband has a valid B1/B2 visa and has visited US once for business purpose. He intends to study in US after a few months of going there.

Are there any specific questions I should watch out for?

If they ask what would my husband be doing in US, is it going to be a problem if he declares that he intends to study during my period of stay?

What if he had chosen to find a job in US after going there? Would the Consulate see this as a problem to grant a VISA?

I am very very anxious about this. All your inputs will be very very helpful.

    Thanks,
    Sushma

When a person applies for a dependent visa, it means, they are not going to do anything else except being a dependent to the primary applicant (It is the primary applicant's responsibility to take care of the dependents).

L2 visa holders are allowed to study. Later when he is in U.S, if he wants to continue his studies, he can do that in L2 (Some schools will accept only students in F1 status) or apply for an EAD to work in L2 status.
