  • Regarding L2 Dependent Visa

Hi My husband and I are working for the same company.
My husband is having L1B Visa and travelling to US.
I have L2 dependent Visa. Now our company is applied L1B visa for me separately.

My question is: Is there any impact on my L2 visa when I appear for L1B visa interview.

Is there any possibilies to hold L1B as well as L2 visa.

I have more concern on my L2 visa. If any unavoidable situations arises then I have to resign my current job and stay along with my husband.

    Kindly help me on this!

    Thanks,
    Chitra T.

Most probably, L2 will not be canceled.
But as always, it depends on VO.

L2 Visa cancellation is a possibility but that does not matter much.
You can easily obtain the Visa again if you are outside the US at that time using your husband's petition approval notice. If you are in the US when you want to change from L1 to L2, you can apply for change of status on form I-539 using your husband's approval notice. As long as your husband remains in L1 status, you can get into L2 status without any problems. And you being on L1 gives him additional flexibility, if he wants to change jobs or something, he can change to L2 anytime too.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

        Regarding L2 Dependent Visa

Hi Team thank you so much for your help.
        I have one more query.
Is there any rules that a person should have either L1 Visa or L2 Visa at a time.

Is it possible to hold L1 and L2 at the same time.

1.No. You don't need to have any US visa, if you're not planning to go to US.
If you do, you need to have appropriate visa.
          2. Yes. But as mentioned earlier, VO might choose to cancel one of them.
