Can I be promoted as a L1A Individual visa holder to a higher managerial role?

I have L1A Individual visa working as a manager and I am being considered for a promotion to a higher managerial role. The job location of the new position would be the same as the current one but my job duties would be slightly different.

Does my company need to file an amendment? If yes, how long would that take to be processed?

Hey Casariego,

I don't think this has an easy answer but if the changes are not too significant and not reducing your managerial duties, I wouldn't worry about it. But it might be best to consult an attorney.

Promotion means additional duties, so you should be fine, as long as you still have that role & responsibility which was mentioned in your last extension/petition, plus something additional.
