L1 visa & I94 Expires

Hello All,
I need suggestion regards to my L1 Visa &I94 . My L1 visa and I94 is expiring coming august . My company is not ready to renew my visa extension want me to work until my I94 and visa expired date. My company have sister entity in Canada they are offering a job for me. Even Canada entity is part of our company its different management so company wouldn’t offer the transfer. My HR informed me If I got terminated at the last day of my I94 and visa expires in US, I will get 30 days grace period after I94 & Visa expiration to leave the country. I heard that from my friends that I can stay until my I94 Expiration date, if I stay after the I94 expires will be considered as a illegal stay would cause problem in my future visa application in US

You remain in status until 60 days after stopping work, or when your I-94 expires, whichever comes first. You cannot stay even one day after your I-94 expiration date unless you have a pending Extension of Stay or Change of Status application.
