  • L2 Visa in Admin Processing while L1 Approved.

Hi team, I am really worried and need help.

    Background:
I had a B1/B2 visa in 2016 Nov till Nov 2021 and I traveled multiple times on that visa
My wife applied for B1/B2 visa twice in 2017, we were newly married then and she got rejected twice.

    Current situation:
Me, my wife, and my 3-year-old went for an interview on Monday (07th June) and our interview went well, he said everything looks in order, just submit a few more documents soon and we should be good.
I did that by the next day and I got the passports of my son and myself on Saturday (12th June) with an approved visa.

However, my wife's case is still under administration processing, we were planning to travel next week max and now we are stuck.

Does anyone have a similar experience?
Can the L2 visa be rejected despite the L1 being approved at that time?

Thank you for all your help.

My friend had similar kind of experience. But they got clearance post submitting the missing documents.

There is a possibility of rejection of L2 despite of an approved L1 visa. However you can re-apply for L2. By the way do you know why your wife's B1/B2 visa got rejected earlier? May be due to same reason USCIS is asking for extra documentation.

It depends on every individual's background check.

B1/B2 visa has different requirement (ties to home country), which L1/L2 does not have. So B1/B2 visa rejection may not be necessarily a reason for L1/L2 rejection.

At that time the rejection reason was not enough ties to home country.

Exactly my thinking, hence I am confused.
