My spouse filed an expedite request by chatting on Ask Emma. The USCIS chat representative gave this generic looking statement :
And then the operator gave the SR number. There was no email received with reference to the same.
The expedite request was raised on 21-June. I have checked the case status on both https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do and by creating an account on my.uscis.gov but neither of them show any indication about an expedite request being received.
This blog suggests that an email should be received and the case status also gets updated : https://*********.com/visas/usa/usci...edite-request/
So, I am not sure if there was a glitch in raising the expedite request itself.
Has anyone filed an expedite request and what has been the experience ?
In order to better assist you, I'm going to need to collect some information to send to the USCIS office having jurisdiction over your case. You should expect to receive a response within 5 days. You will be contacted directly by the USCIS office if additional information or documentation is required. However, if you do not receive a response within 5 days, it may mean your request is taking a little longer to process and it is not necessary to call us again regarding the request. The Service Center, Field Office, or National Benefits Center will contact you as soon as possible.

- Step 4 – Get Expedite Service Request Number: They will take all your details like receipt number, email id, etc. Once done, the customer service will give you Expedite Service Request Number, it will be the one that you will use to track your expedite request. You will get an email with the details of the expedite request.
- Step 5 – Expedite Request Tracking: Usually, when you raise an expedite request, your general case status on USCIS website gets tagged to this and you can track the status of your expedite request there. You can use your same Receipt Number to track the status. It is better seen, if you have an account. You can create an account at https://myaccount.uscis.gov/ or https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and track it. Sometimes, the status may slightly different in both, due to sync issues…
- Did you receive an email just to state that an expedite request was filed ?
- Did the case status change to indicate that an expedite request was raised ?
- Is there any other way to track the expedite request reference ID given by the operator ?
