DOB correction on Passport and L2 Visa possible?

Hello,

I have a problem with my spouse date of birth. Date of birth in birth certificate (original) does not match with other documents such as passport, Aadhar card, 10th Markscard, and other ID proofs.

It is like birth certificate date is 05 June 1987, but the one in passport and all other documents is 05 April 1988. This is a problem since schooldays as in my native when joining school, school authorities forcefully made my parents change my DOB in school records for some reason. When my parents applied passport for me, they used the same in my school certificate. So now, all my ID proofs has wrong date of birth and birth certificate has correct one.


Now the questions are -

1. If birth certificate (BC) is needed for GC application, since there is a discrepancy in my BC and passport, Can I apply for a passport reissue to get DOB corrected in the Indian Embassy here with original BC ?
2. If reapplying for passport , current passport will get canceled and new one will be issued. But in that case what will happen to L2 visa? Can L2 Visa be updated with correct DOB ? Any process aware off ?

BC is required for GC application. In my opinion, if you change your passport, you would need to change rest all documents as well. Better to fix the BC.

L2 visa will still be valid in old passport & you'll have to present both passports at the time of entry into USA. The date difference in both passport will lead more confusion to officer. So better fix the BC.
