  • L2 and EAD Extension Got Approved :-)

    Hello All

    I am sharing my experience!

L1/L2/EAD renewal receipt notice in hand July 31st, 2020 (Texas Service Center)

    L1 approval received on August 15th, 2020 ( Premium Processing )

L2 biometric appointment completed in 1st week of December 2020.

EAD extension expedite denied in Dec 2020

L2 extension expedite denied in Jan 2021, L2 expedite denied second time on 06/30/2021 Again expedited on 07/09/2021

On 7/12/2021 L2 extension was approved same day EAD, and all the status was updated by evening on the USCIS website. Also, the EAD card was ordered status was updated later on that night. I hope I receive the EAD card next week.

Note: USCIS did reject my third expedite request.

Perfect Monday ever for me, 11 and half months of waiting for me. I hope anyone in the same boat can gauge when their case will get approved based on my timeline.

    Best of luck!

This is great news!! That must be such a relief for you. Fantastic for the rest of us to know that some approvals are actually happening, too.

Do you think the approval was on the basis of the third expedite request, or just coincidence?

Nope, just a coincidence! Like full 11 + month cycle it seems to be for Texas SC. I hope it speeds up for everyone.

        Dear all,

My spouse (on an L2) got her L2 extension petition (I-539 application) and her EAD renewal (I-765) [both submitted at the same time] approved today. I wanted to share her timeline.

L1/L2/EAD renewal was received by the USCIS on 31st August 2020 (Texas Center)
L1 extension approved 2 weeks later using expedited processing
        L2 biometrics were taken 12th April 2021
L2 expedite denied on several occasions, most recently 12th May 2021

Both her L2 and EAD were approved together at the same time. The immigration law firm that we went through for all the filings said last week that there is no guarantee that both would be approved at the same time, but I have heard of this happening to others so I have to think that it is happening more and more.

It has taken a full 11 months since the applications were received which, given the estimated processing times for the Texas center, seems to be on the quicker end so I hope for everyone else still waiting, that this timing remains the same or is reduced over the coming weeks and months.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting!
