  • L1 and small companies

    Hi,
I have a small company in Europe (with a sbusidiary in Asia) and want to open a new company in the US (and for the next few years live and work there). My idea is to go on an L1 visa. I have a number of questions relating to this.

    1) The text on L1A seems quite strict. Is the interpretation as strict (high policy decisions - not people management etc)
    2) Can I apply for L1A in the new company based on being more of an "L1B" in the parent company if my position (as owner and manager) is not considered enough L1A
    3) Perhaps most important: How are the companies reviewed? What are more specific things they will look at and possibly have requirements on? Size, number of staff, annual revenue? Organizational strucutre? Size of offices? Line of business? the four points or so on the list (continuos operations in origination company etc) is probably not all??

    Thanks in advance

    M
