  • L1 stamping in Mexico

Hi, India citizen staying in US
I have approved L1A petition, but visa not yet stamped. Dependent L2 visa approval is still pending

In this position can we both travel to Mexico and get the visas stamped there?

Yes, if you can get appointment in Mexico.

Was your last visa issued on blanket?

Most embassies are not taking appointments for third-country nationals, other than New Zealand and Australia, because the first few will be swamped with thousands of applicants who can't get appointments elsewhere. Canada may do it when the borders reopen to vaccinated travelers in September.

The best bet would be India, but given the travel restrictions have no end in sight, it looks like you're stuck for now. This country sure hates immigrants.

For L1b visa renewal after 3 years, does one have to leave US and go to home country to get a visa again or can they go to new york consulate?

you can get it renewed from US but for visa stamping you need to go to Canada/Mexico (if they allow) or else India

Does the visa stamping process has to be done within certain days of visa approval? Or once you exit US to travel to any country, you should have the stamp on way back?

No, if you are already in USA, you can live in USA with approved petition for years - no need of new visa.

Yes, stamping is only needed, if you visit outside USA & return. Visa is merely needed for entry purpose.
