    >>> Non-resident alien.

    And who will get what status?
    >>> I am not sure what you are trying to ask. If you enter U.S L1 visa, then you are in L1 status and your dependents will be in L2 status.

      When I am filling application, someone here telling, comes under Foreign National, so I am confused, what is the difference between both, and L1 person surly fall under Non-Permanent alien?

      Thanks for answer.

        It depends on what application you are filling.

        Do you live in U.S now? If you are currently residing in U.S, then you are a non-resident alien (Unless you have a GC).
        If you are not a resident of U.S, then select foreign national.

          Hi ,

          This is just for the info:.

          If you are on H1/L1 visa - this doesn;t mean that you are NON-RESIDENT ALIEN and if you are GC holder - then you are RESIDENT ALIEN

          When you file for Income Tax - if you are on H1/L1 and if you pass "Substantial Presence Test" - then you are RESIDENT ALIEN.

          Please refer-http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc851.html for more details

          Thanks and Regards,
          Abhay
