I understand there are many rejections - any reasons for the same?

The reason for more rejection on Blanket petition is that with Blanket petition, the onus lies on the VO to verify that the applicant really qualify for that visa. Usually the VO rejects the visa, if he/she doubts something is fishy or suspicious (without wasting time on asking & verifying documents).

With individual petition, the case is reverse - applicant submits all his documents in advance & USCIS gets ample time to verify those documents, hence visa approval rate is higher with Individual petition.
