L2 visa renewal

I have recently changed from L1B to L1A. I am planning to extend L2 visa for my wife and child. I have few questions -
1. My visa changes from L1B to L1A. For my wife and child is the L2 visa going to be an extension and not change of status? I believe it is going to be extension and their visa category is still L2.
2. Can I apply for L2 visa and EAD renewal at the same time?

Please see my response below.
1. Since your dependent status will be remain same as L2, I hope, you will need to consider only L2 extension. Please make sure, they have I-94 validity for now. If it is going to approach end date, Please start processing Ext petition.
2. Yes. You can file both the petition together.
