  • L2- EAD- new automatic extension on concurrent filing

    Hello,
I’’m on an L2 visa working with EAD. My L2 and EAD will expire in March, 2022. Can I file for L2 and EAD renewal through i539 and i765 concurrent filing and still get the benefit of automatic renewal even if these both form don’t get approved prior to the expiration date? Please help. Is i539 better or traveling to a different country for visa renewal(with Covid restrictions) better.

    I don't think so

As I understand it, the OP is asking about extension of L2 work authorization after the expiration of the I-94. I am not aware of any provision for L2 work authorization after the expiration of I-94, even if there is an extension pending.

Understood, seems like this new rule is still not very clear to everyone. Better to consult an experienced attorney.
