  • L2 (extension) Visa Stamping

    Hi,

I initially came to USA on L1-A (Blanket) and my dependents are also here in US on L2 (blanket). We all extended our Visa and mine I assume it became L1-A (Individual) with a valid I797. My dependents' visa extension is also approved (they also have I797c).

Now they had to travel to India and looking to get their Visa stamping. Would they be eligible for Interview Wavier as they previously had L2 Visa and it is expired only 11 months back. Or since the visa is changed from L2 Blanket to L2 Individual, would they need to go for interview?

I am trying to schedule an appointment for them and there were few questions asked and the site says they are eligible for Interview Waiver. I wanted to double sure that I did not answer some question incorrect and do not want to go for drop box mistakenly.

    Please advise.

    Regards,
    Ranjit

    Hi Member,
    Here is my response.
Now they had to travel to India and looking to get their Visa stamping. Would they be eligible for Interview Wavier as they previously had L2 Visa and it is expired only 11 months back. Or since the visa is changed from L2 Blanket to L2 Individual, would they need to go for interview?
Answer: As per my knowledge, yes. They will be eligible for Interview waiver only. What my argument is, since L2 status is not changed and right now they want to get visa on same category then they will be eligible for Interview waiver.
    All the best.
    Thanks
