Muslim Divorced - Process for L2 for 2nd wife

Hello All,

I got married to an Indian women in 2007 and due to misunderstanding, we got separated in front of Police in my native in india. We gave my ex-wife all settlement and got her signature and also her fathers with lawyers on both sides. I basically Divorced (thalak) her and gave her the full and final settlement for her and my son.

We filed a case in India for Court divorce and is in progress (She is not reporting to court),,,

Now my second marriage got fixed and I want to bring my second wife to US (I'm working in L1A visa )

Let me know the process for bringing her (My exact question will be, Do we need Court Divorce for bringing her to USA? or what other doc is required )

My Jamath can give the NO OBJECTION certificate for my second marriage.

---- YES, you will need a court issued divorce certificate to show that your divorce is complete apart form all other certificates. The proc3ess for L2 visa for a scond marriage remains the same as before. If your documents are clear there is no need to worry

But whether the court Divorce is required for "Muslim" Divorce also....?

The following link in IMMIHELP tells that "Divorce from Muslims must be documented by a certificate from the Kazi or the head of the Jamat.
