L1 transfer to L2

Hi,

I have a query & without getting an answer I am not able to move forward to the next step.

I currently have L-1B through my current employer & I currently work in India. My employer is also in India.
My wife has an L-1B too from her employer, but it is a different employer in India.

I want to apply for L2 & come as her dependant to USA. Now my question is, if I go for an L2 interview, what will happen to my L-1B status and can I start processing this when I am staying with my current employer.

I need some suggestion on this.

You may have multiple visa stamps in your passport, but you will have one visa status in USA at one time.
