L2 extension in progress. Can I work?

Hi All,

My spouse L1 is approved in premium; however my L2 visa is still not approved. As per processing time in USCIS website it will take another 3 months. Can I work here in US? I checked with an immigration attorney. She said; until L2 is approved you cannot work. But the uscis website does not mention this. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

What is your status ? L2 or L2S ?
