Personal travel on L1-B - Visa stamping
I am on an L1-B (blanket) issued in Feb 2020 - PED-02/17/2023. My passport had expired since my first stamping and I had renewed it in Aug 2021 while I was in the US.
I want to travel to my home country (India) for personal reasons. My attorneys suggested that I should book a visa appointment in my home country before I travel for visa stamping. I am not sure if that's because my I-797 expired due to the passport renewal. Also, will that be required each time I travel while on a L1 in the future as well? My reasons for travel are not necessarily urgent, so wondering if I should plan my travel closer to the PED date. I am a little confused about the process here and would appreciate any guidance.
