Is SSN needed for EAD?

Hi,

Myself and my wife landed in US recently and i am going to apply for my SSN next week. Mine is L1 visa and my wife is on L2 so she is eligible for EAD. I have a question on this

1) Is it necessary for me to have a SSN before applying for her EAD or SSN
2) Should i apply for her EAD first then SSN or reverse?
