entered L2 blanket instead of l2 individual

Hi,
I entered l2 blanket instead of l2 individual while booking the visa interview appointment.
1) How to change it?
2) Do I have to cancel the appointment and book new one?
3) At the time of interview can consulate change that?
4) canceling an appointment , should I have to pay the fee again

One of my friend mistakenly used blanket though his case is individual. However, I don't know the consulate modified it or not, but they granted stamping and he is in USA now.
