  • Travel with a baby who is a Canadian citizen

Hi. We are in Canada say for 4 years. My husband has L1 visa(stamped an year ago valid till mid 2023). We will be moving to the US next month. We have a 12 month old baby(born in Canada). We didnt apply for dependent visa for her so far. I heard canadian born child gets visa at the port of entry. Is that true?
    Thank you

Canadian citizens don't need US visas to enter the US on most types of nonimmigrant status. Your child simply needs to show up to the US port of entry with their Canadian passport, proof of the parent's L1 status, and birth certificate proving parent-child relationship, to be admitted into L2 status.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
