  • L1 Blanket - Can co-applicant/dependent ask for translator on the fly in Chennai

    Hello,
I booked the appointment for L1 blanket in Chennai and added my wife and child as dependent. There is no option to specify separate language for dependents in portal. My wife wants to be interviewed in Hindi

Is it possible that on the fly, we go and ask there for translator and get it? has anyone tried this?

I spoke to customer care and they suggested that if we want separate language, we take separate appointments. I tried that route but then for "L2-Hindi" , there are no appointments for several months

Well, Its based on translator's availability. You can ask for a translator on the fly & if someone is available they will help, if not you still can try responding in your broken language. Also, I've seen similar situation where VO decided to ask other applicant in the queue to help in translation.

As long as you are there, you can also translate if needed. Generally with spouse & child, they rarely ask much questions, rather some simple questions like, where do you guys meet, was it love or arranged marriage etc. (just to prove a valid marriage & for that your kid is the best proof).
