  • L2 Dependent Visa

I have a situation here. I have already travelled to US last month on L1 and my petition expiry and visa expiry date is on 17 July 2022 and the extension process has started.
My dependents are still in India and have got the visa slots on 13 and 14 July. Now during their interview will there be any issues as my petition is getting expired on 17th July. What documents do I need to send them to get their visa approved?
Appreciate if anyone can provide suggestions on this.

Legally, they are still good to get a visa with validity matching your petition/visa expiry date (i.e. July 17 2022). So the visa might be still expired, by the time they get passport delivered to them.

Best way for you would be to get extension approved (under Premium) before their visa interview & have them use your new extended petition during their interview.

lokemtor2 I am planning the same for my wife ,and waiting for my receipt notice so that she can proceed with DS 160. Could you let me know what is the waiting time for getting a L2 stamping visa appointment in India ? Is the situation really bad as it was few months back, or one can get an appointment with reasonable effort ? Thanks in advance !
